This fragrance is reminiscent of a cologne that's been in many of our lives. Here at Cricklewood, it reminds us of dad. 

Our parent's story began at the Cricklewood Coffee Shoppe in 1950, and it was in August 1955 that their first child was born, while stationed overseas.  In March, 1956, this young family returned home as first class passengers aboard the ocean liner, SS United States. They disembarked in NYC amidst a snow storm, with just 25cents to their name, a room at our grandparent's and the GI bill. The GI bill would fund dad's continued education for years to come. While this candle is about our dad, it's also in tribute to all of the great men and women, past and present, who've served their country with duty and honor.

Since this initial post, news came to us that the historic SS United States, who made it's maiden voyage in 1952, may have now made it's final voyage to the gulf, after spending 30 years docked in South Philadelphia. This landmark is sadly being prepared for sinking, to create the world's largest artificial reef. A museum and visitor's center is being planned to honor the ship's history. Soy based candles do not use chemicals to enhance their fragrance strength, our scent rating for this candle (but to each his own) is: Medium

Cricklewood Gardens' natural soy wax candles are hand-poured and made in the USA. Did you know natural soy burns about 95% cleaner than petroleum based paraffin wax candles?  Though paraffin might be easier to work with, we feel crafting our candles from vegetable based, non-toxic and renewable resources is the better choice. Be sure to follow our first burn guidelines for a long, smooth burn.  

Subject to local supplier availability, our signature 11oz jar colors will vary from; white, black, champagne, rose gold or amber. Some varieties may also use cobalt blue glass jars. The Libbey containers used to pour our 11oz candles are typically 🇺🇸 Made in the USA.

Cricklewood Gardens is a family owned boutique gift shop. Our products are crafted in small batches, either by Cricklewood Gardens or our artisan suppliers, to ensure quality and freshness. Product availability will reflect current stock and is updated regularly. We endeavor to ship all in stock items within 24-48 business hours. From product ready date, we offer USPS shipping to the contiguous United States, at this time. If expedited shipping is required, contact Cricklewood prior to order for a quote. If we can meet your timeline, we'll accommodate. 

For customized orders, ready date will be discussed and agreed between Cricklewood Gardens and purchaser, prior to invoicing. 

Shipping period: Products ship via USPS ground or priority mail, Monday - Friday, year round excluding weekends, holidays and any closure periods as specified on website. 

Candle shipping: Due to heat sensitivity and potential for product damage during transit in warmer months or states, Cricklewood is unable to ship candles during the following period: May 15th - September 15th. Need a candle order during these months? Contact inquiries@cricklewoodgardens.net. For order values over $100.00, customers 25 miles or less from zip code 08822, front door delivery may be an option. For customers 26+ miles outside of Flemington NJ, special shipping rates / coolant packaging materials, can be quoted.
